Rod Washington's interest in filmmaking started in grade school. After years of taking countless film/ video courses dating back as early as High School, Rod became a partner in the formation of First Choice Productions in Southern California. Even though FCP ceased operations in 1993, they had produced several independent projects; including the critically acclaimed, award winning series Almost There, also Fiction Theater, The McAllister Affair and two feature projects, Imminent Contact and Until Tomorrow Comes. In 1996, Rod started RCW Film/ Video Works where both he and Mike Sliwa wrote short stories and screenplays. And in 1999, they both worked on their first short film A LONG WALK HOME, which starred Sliwa. Later that year the name of the organization was changed to RCW MediaWorks. Since then, they have been working on several independent video/ film productions and had one project shown at the Phoenix Film Festival.
